ULTRAWAVES GmbH develops and markets innovative high-power ultrasonic systems for water and environmental engineering. Apart from the disintegration of biomass in wastewater treatment plants and biogas plants, the systems are also used in industrial applications. Of all the plant technologies available on the market for disintegration by ultrasonic, the high-performance ultrasonic systems from ULTRAWAVES are the only ones that are capable of creating hard cavitation. Hard cavitation is the only means of achieving the breakdown of biomass agglomerates and an intensification of the fermentation process.
ULTRAWAVES‘ high-power ultrasonic systems can be used for a large number of applications in both municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants. These primarily include sludge treatment, but also wastewater treatment in the form of controlling bulking sludge and foaming and improved nitrogen elimination by providing internal carbon carriers.
ULTRAWAVES‘ ultrasonic systems are used in agricultural biogas plants to intensify anaerobic biological degradation of all kinds of added biomass materials, such as, renewable raw materials, maize, green waste, slurry, etc. This results in a wide range of applications for ultrasonic technology. Ultrasonic usually either enables an increase in biogas production with unchanged substrate supply or saves biomass added without losses in biogas production.
Thanks to the integration of ultrasonic technology, persistent organic pollutants can be treated so that they become biodegradable. This is especially beneficial for the treatment of difficult wastewater. The ultrasonic technology is also used in industrial sectors in order to prepare problematic organic substances for better biodegradability.
